Swimwear designer Rebecca Virtue is pleased to announce her collaboration with Furnishing Hope to help provide much needed support to our Wounded Warriors and their families. Severely wounded warriors are immediately sent to military hospitals specializing in amputee and traumatic brain injuries.
The spouses and children of these warriors fly across the country to meet them, often times leaving all their possessions behind. Many of these family members arrive with only a suitcase. When their loved ones are released from the hospital to begin their rehabilitation process, these supportive family members seek housing nearby. Furnishing Hope provides the necessary furniture and supplies for these displaced military families to create a more comfortable environment in which they can recover from their injuries and start a new life.
Beth Phillips is the founder and executive director of Furnishing Hope. Having been an interior designer for more than thirty years, Beth saw the unnecessary disposal of usable furniture as an opportunity to do something for those in need.
For many years, Beth's daughter, Rebecca Virtue, has participated in Furnishing Hope's efforts. Rebecca saw firsthand how the creation of a nurturing home could impact the lives of military families in need. She saw an opportunity to partner the worlds of interior design and fashion design to make a difference.
Rebecca Virtue designed a collection of Red, White, and Blue swimwear and cover-ups in honor of these men and women who have given so much for our country. 15% of BECCA's net proceeds from the sales of this collection are being donated to Furnishing Hope to help further their efforts.
