Venao to host designer swimwear fashion show on Aug 28

Venao Apparel Inc. is hosting a cocktail event to celebrate the launch of the label with hors d'oeuvres, entertainment, and fashion show featuring the SWIM 2013 collection. Event will be held at the trendy CUBE rooftop patio, located at 314 Queen St W, on August 28th at 11pm.

The much-anticipated collection will feature exclusive pieces, signature cuts, and luxurious fabrics.

The show will feature a musical performance by Dr. Draw, Toronto's favorite dynamic electric violinist; live art on the catwalk by the talented Javid (Jah); and custom accessories by Banoo by MeSa and IAMe Designs by Lilu.

VENAO Apparel Inc. is a fashion design and manufacturing business specializing in designer swim and beach wear.

Emphasis is placed on quality, versatility and unique design. The creative directors of the company are Tetiana Paratchuk and Julie Khinkis. Distribution has been set-up through their online store, retail boutiques, and sales agents in Toronto, Tel Aviv, Cancun, and Kiev.

Allison Seymour to host Kiddie Katwalk model search

Model Search & Reality Show Filming will be held at the Washington Convention Center. Presented by Spoiled and Rotten Kids Spa, the first ever Kiddie Katwalk on Saturday, March 17 is designed to find the region’s newest faces for fashion. Fox 5 News Anchor Allison Seymour will host the daylong model search from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Washington Convention Center. Children who are registered by February 17 will receive complimentary headshots and model coaching.

The Kiddie Katwalk model search will serve as the pilot taping of a reality show in production. Winners will undergo a holistic transformation throughout the taping of the show by attending character building workshops, etiquette classes and social and cultural enrichment activities.

The girls will receive professional modeling classes with a celebrity top child model and the boys will receive grooming seminars, comedy classes and shadow men in the fashion industry. Families from various walks of life will be featured to show the financial and emotional impact child modeling careers can have on families.

Multi-modal fashion show at Ciné et La Mode night

Just Off 7th Ave joins Dark Kidney Films and Shooting Stars to present Ciné et La Mode - A Night of Film and Fashion”. The event will take place on June 8th 2012 at the trendy NYC Club Amnesia. Ciné et La Mode is a Fundraiser for the groups who hope to expand their individual projects for 2012.

Ciné et La Mode will feature a multi-modal fashion show by up and coming independent fashion designers, a movie presentation, and will be hosted by comedian Maribeth Mooney. Event Sponsor Hpnotiq will unveil its new spring flavor “Harmonie” and prepare specialty cocktails exclusively for this event. The event is also being sponsored by NYC Grind.

All three organizations of this event began as meet up groups and have grown into thriving ventures. Just Off 7th Ave supports independent designers at all stages of their development. Jo7a partners with professionals and businesses to support member designers by offering a range of services, service providers and myriad opportunities ensuring their ability to define and distinguish themselves and their collections. 

Dark Kidney Films is dedicated to shooting short films for the film festival circuit. Shooting Stars is a conglomeration of models, photographers, make up artists, hair stylists, and wardrobe/set stylists who work together to build strong and compelling portfolios.

100 years of Bihar : Silks of Bihar fashion show

New Delhi: Bihar-born designers Samant Chauhan and Arun Tiwari are set to mark 100 years of Bihar with a fashion show called "Silks of Bihar". Eco Tasar Silk Pvt Ltd, an organisation working on Tassar Silk, and Bihar State Small Industries Corp Ltd are organising the show April 1 at Talkatora Indoor Stadium here. Bihar is known for tassar silk and traditional weaving skills. Eco Tasar is trying to promote this through the fashion show, said Khitish Pandya, managing director, Eco Tasar Pvt ltd.

"Bihar is a rich state known for its very old and revered handloom weaving centres of Bhagalpur, Nalanda and Bihar Sharif. Traditionally a lot of tassar silk gets woven in Bihar. We have been associated with the state since 2000. We are thankful to have artisans of Bihar working with us to keep the spirit of the silk tradition alive," Pandya said in a statement.

"The government of Bihar has been kind to give us the opportunity and be a part of 100 years of Bihar Sthapna Divas," he added.

The event will see Eco Tasar Silk Pvt Ltd showcasing their collection, which will be an eclectic blend of modern and traditional silk weaving. Ambapali, the Bihar emporium, will bring skilled artisans from Bihar.

Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2011:Jay-Z Kanye West, Maroon 5, Nicki Minaj Photos

NEW YORK - The first thing you need to know about successful insanity Victoria Secret fashion show is that it is a fashion show at all. There is nothing fashionable about it. Girls are not angry or pout off the runway, high fashion models. These creatures dream come smile. And a nod, wave, dance and blow kisses while wearing next-to-no underwear. VS models are impossible leggy, rail-thin yet voluptuous curves with pretty faces and big smiles, wide. All senior and made taller by 8-inch heels. (Seriously, and it made me extremely nervous and extremely respectful of them -. if none of them even staggered)

For women, the show is a powerful motivator to swear solids. For men, well, they can only dream of. Not sure of the demographics, but last year the fair attracted nearly 9 million viewers in the United States (and which will air in about 100 countries), and I suppose most are men ogling.

The 2011 show, which airs at 9 pm Tuesday on WBBM-Channel 2, was recorded in early November at the Lexington Avenue Armory in New York before a capacity crowd of about 2,000 people. The show is an annual heat bill there are men who were out to offer hundreds of dollars for a pink pass.

It took about 30 minutes on the treadmill, but opted to an hour for as long as you see it, and there are many things to see, and a group of lingeries models with wings: A smiling Kanye West performed at a stunned crowd, then carries out its partner Jay-Z tour the crowd Giddi and a standing ovation throughout the song. Maroon 5 arrives on stage and in a happy coincidence, vocalist Adam Levine happens to be dating Russian model Anne Vyalitsyna, who sings "moves like Jagger" and plants a kiss on her as it slides down the track. Nicki Minaj rap goddess, adorned with an explosion of confetti dress and a look of annoyance, also performed.

Of special interest is Erin Heatherton own Skokie, 22, an angel of true supermodel who won their wings at the fair last year. "It's the most exciting day of the year for me," he said, adding that his parents had flown to see the show.

Of the 38 angels that walked, the best known are those of Chanel Iman, Miranda Kerr (who had the honor of carrying the $ 2.5 million "Fantasy Treasure bra", and her husband, actor Orlando Bloom, sat in the front row and stood up every time I walked down the runway), Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, Lily Aldridge and Lindsey Ellingson.
